OVERVIEW

This field of study prepares students in state-of-art financial theory and its relationship to practice. The student chooses an emphasis in Business Finance, Capital Markets, or Investments. Formal coursework and other learning experiences are designed to develop expertise in the application of quantitative and statistical methods to research on theoretical and financial questions.

COURSES

The doctoral area of Finance typically requires four doctoral courses as part of the student's plan of study.  These are in addition to the appropriate master's breadth and foundation courses and the appropriate methodology courses.  In particular cases, some of the four doctoral area courses may be from allied fields such as Accountancy, International Business, Management and Economics.

The Finance Department typically offers FINA321, 322, 323 and 324 on a regular basis.
